Gunlock State Park

Sitting 19 miles from St. George, this Utah state park showcases waterfalls (during the spring), campsites and cottages, and boating, fishing and swimming — all centered around the 260-acre Gunlock Reservoir.

About 13 miles from St. George, this Utah state park flaunts the 600-acre Quail Creek Reservoir with peaceful waters for paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, boating, and fishing.

Snow Canyon State Park

About 11 miles from St. George, this Utah state park features hiking, horseback riding, and technical rock-climbing routes through lava flows, lava tubes and petrified dunes. Take a scenic drive or bike ride along a portion of the iconic IRONMAN 70.3 bike route.

Bloomington Country Club

Opened in 1969 and freshly renovated in 2019, Bloomington Country Club is one of Greater Zion’s most unique golf courses with nearly 7,000 yards of immaculately maintained fairways, flawless greens, a large practice putting green, a chipping green with a challenging sand trap, and a full-size driving range.

Coral Canyon Golf Course

Coral Canyon Golf Course is an 18-hole championship, golf course surrounded by red rock and mountain ranges. The greens are phenomenal, attracting golfers from around the world to enjoy luxurious golf at the doorway to some of the world’s most famed natural wonders.

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club

Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club is the only truly private golf club available in Greater Zion, offering above-and-beyond customer service and attention to detail for members and onsite guests in St. George. A lodging stay at the Inn at Entrada includes access to the otherwise private course. Stay to play.

Sand Hollow Golf Course

Located in the heart of the Hurricane Valley, Sand Hollow Resort is award-winning and awe-inspiring. The red sands of the scenery and immaculately maintained red-sand bunkers contrast nicely with the manicured green fairways. It’s a links-style golf course, set in the sand dunes and among cliffs’ edges, with a beautiful mountain-filled backdrop featuring Zion National Park.

Short yet challenging, walkable yet scenic, Southgate Golf Course is a well-balanced golf experience with several water features. Located on the south side of St. George, just off of Dixie Drive, Southgate is in the perfect spot for golfers to play a refreshing game while still enjoying the surrounding community and its offerings.

Sunbrook Golf Club has a reputation of being perfectly balanced between challenging and playable. All golfers from beginners to experts can find their niche at St. George’s very own Sunbrook, especially since there are 27 championship holes from which to choose. The combination of three different nine-hole courses; The Pointe, Woodbridge, and Blackrock

The Ledges Golf Course

North of St. George (just off of SR-18), The Ledges Golf Club is perched along cliff sides adjacent to Snow Canyon State ParkZion National Park’s “little brother.” This proximity makes The Ledges a stunning combination of unique and picturesque.

Copper Rock Golf Course

Located in the backyard of Sand Hollow State Park among the Hurricane Cliffs, Copper Rock Golf Course is a links-style course offering a classic golf experience, but still featuring some modern elements. It is the perfect balance of unique yet traditional layouts, upscale yet friendly accommodations, and challenging yet approachable greens.

Dixie Red Hills Golf Club

Dixie Red Hills Golf Course is a St. George staple, representing the genesis of golf in Greater Zion. It is a nine-hole, par-34 golf course, with three par-3s and one par-5. The remaining holes are par-4s, totaling approximately 2,700 yards from the back tees. The natural green fairways are surrounded by red rock, creating compelling contrasts for all levels of golfers to enjoy as they play.

Green Spring Golf Course

Green Spring Golf Course is set among towering plateaus, soaring valleys, and lush arbor features near the City of Washington. The variety of landscaping features and elevation changes makes each hole on the course unique, and the views of the thriving Washington community only add to the scenery.

St. George Golf Club

St. George Golf Club is one of the public golf courses owned by the City of St. George. It boasts an excellent, hilltop view of the city and a friendly atmosphere. The traditional layout of this course is ideal for golfers who enjoy a good walk or leisurely stroll between strokes. St. George Golf Club is positioned alongside the Ft. Pearce Wash, creating water features that weave in, out, and around the fairways.

SunRiver Golf Club

SunRiver Golf Club is a local favorite, boasting a unique setup compared to most other courses in the area. It is privately owned and located in the heart of a warm neighborhood community. It is still accessible for the public to play and conveniently located just off of I-15 near the south side of St. George.

Black Desert Resort Golf Course

The golf course is Tom Weiskopf’s 73rd and final design, with lava rock features headlining the sprawling fairways and 360-degree views of red canyons and majestic mountain ranges in the distance. With such a brilliant combination of natural beauty and manmade precision, every hole at Black Desert could be a signature hole.

HIKING & BIKING

Greater Zion has something for everyone in the realm of hiking

So whether you are looking for a grueling 12-mile hike into the solitude of nature or a fun two-mile hike for the whole family, Greater Zion won’t disappoint. Below is a link to hikes the area has to offer.

A trip to the St. George and Springdale areas can easily be justified with a single hike in Zion National Park or Snow Canyon State Park. They are that good! It’s truly a unique experience you won’t find elsewhere.

But go greater! Go explore ALL Greater Zion has to offer. Take the path less traveled too.

The beautiful red and orange rocks burst and break into mountains, canyons, buttes, and gorges that make for some great hiking. It’s amazing to see what nature is capable of while hiking Zion National Park and beyond.

Biking

In an area known for mountain biking and its competitive road biking, especially associated with IRONMAN, sometimes a simple leisurely bike ride is all you’re after. And local outfitters are making it even easier to navigate the terrain with e-bike rentals too.

Biking through Greater Zion affords you views and access you can’t get on four wheels. Hundreds of miles of paved, dirt, and designated routes can have you occupied for days, and experiencing awe around every corner. Or you may wish to make it your preferred mode of transportation on your stay here.

Bike into Zion National Park and explore Zion Canyon Road on two wheels, cycle through the state parks, pedal to restaurants and shops, or follow the path of the award-winning IRONMAN course. In Greater Zion, whatever your skill level, there’s a trail for you, along with a bike shop or outfitter to get your adventure started.
